There are a variety of reasons for invalid test results.
A few are listed below:
There is not enough of the urine sample to saturate the testing strips.
There is too much urine beyond the max line of the dip card.
Tampering with the sample couldcause an invalid test result, if thespecific gravity or pH of the sample is too low.
The incorrect pH of the urine sample can be caused by using an old or diluted urine sample.
The presence of water or chemical agents mixed with the urine can also affect the results.
No. Once urine reaches the water in a toilet, it has been diluted and could have been exposed to cleaning agents that can affect test results. We do not recommend using urine collected in this manner.
A faint line still indicates negative results. The presence of a second test line, regardless of how faint, indicates a negative result. Some test lines tend to run naturally lighter than others. Even if there is some amount of a drug in the urine, if there are two lines present, the urine does not have the MINIMUM amount of drug needed to consider it positive, so it is considered negative. With some drugs, the minimum amount is relatively high, like amphetamines (1000ng/mL). With other drugs the minimum amount is relatively low, like marijuana (50ng/mL). The lower the minimum amount, the lighter the line will be in negative urine
We offer Lab Confirmation services on our products for an additional fee. Some test products have this fee included in the price. Send the specimen to our laboratory for testing if you are not convinced of the result, however, the intensity of the line plays absolutely no role in the QuickScreen test kits. Our laboratory tests also relies on minimum amounts.
